Carbide Drill Bit Sharpening & Button Replacement
Sharpen. Restore. Save.
Before you buy new, find out what your current bits have left to give. We sharpen carbide bits, replace buttons and refurbish eligible tooling. Ship your bits to us from anywhere in the U.S., or ask about local pickup and delivery.
Get more from your tooling
Worn doesn’t always mean worn out.
Replacing expensive drill bits adds up. Sharpening and refurbishing serviceable tooling can help you get more value from the equipment you already own.
You could save thousands in replacement costs across eligible bits. Start with a quote and compare the proposed work with the price of buying new.
Savings depend on bit condition, replacement price, required work and transport. Not every bit can be refurbished.
Know the numbers before you buy new
What could you save on 15″, 18″ & 20″ carbide drill bits?
Compare replacing large-diameter rock drilling bits with sharpening or refurbishment, where appropriate. Have Center Rock tooling or a bit supplied through Keystone Drill Services? Enter the prices for your exact bit and service quote to see the potential upfront difference.
Example annual upfront cost difference
Not actual quoted savings
Example of servicing 4 eligible bits instead of buying 4 new bits, after assumed annual freight and handling. Change the prices or quantities to match your operation.
Try your own bit prices
The numbers below are made-up planning examples — not Keystone, Center Rock or DG Carbide prices. Replace them with your supplier quotes and the cost of servicing eligible tooling.
| Bit | Bits / yr | New bit price ($) | Service / bit ($) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15″ | |||
| 18″ | |||
| 20″ |
How it works: Σ [eligible bits × (new price − service price)] − annual freight and fees = potential upfront cost difference.
Not all 15″, 18″ or 20″ bits can be refurbished. Confirm bit design, wear and condition before assuming a new purchase can be avoided.
Important: All starting prices, service costs, tool counts and projected savings are purely hypothetical. They are not DG Carbide or manufacturer quotes, actual customer savings, typical savings, or guaranteed results. This simple comparison assumes each serviced bit can substitute for one new bit and excludes differences in service life, penetration rate, downtime, taxes and other operating costs. The three-year figure repeats the same annual assumptions rather than predicting future performance. Keystone Drill Services and Center Rock are third-party names mentioned only to help identify tooling; DG Carbide's service compatibility and any manufacturer warranty implications must be confirmed before work.
